Online collections

My research so far has led me to some interesting books, web-sites and exhibitions and I have been surprised at how much information is available both in library catalogues and online.
The internet certainly has it's advantages in terms of the immediacy of being able to access information and the online galleries of artists books at a variety of sites are a wonderful resource.
Artist books are now featured in the collections of major state and university libraries many of which have wonderful online galleries.
Out of interest follow this link to a catalogue entry of an Artists' Book.
One of the artists that I was aware of prior to starting this blog is Nicholoas Jones is a Melbourne artist well known for his altered books. I have seen some of his works at Craft Victoria his website has a wonderful
online gallery with examples of his work which extends from books that have been carved, incised and folded to installations of works.
Sarah Bodman is a UK artist and Senior Research Fellow for Artists’ Books at the Centre for Fine Print Research at the University of the West of England she recently conducted a Q and A for the State Library of Victoria to coincide with their current exhibition of artists’ books.
Follow this link to view a short video of her work.
If you scroll down from the awful adverts the blog The bitter sweet  art of cutting up books  has some wonderful images of altered books and books art.
